‘Beauty’ beast of a production
EXCITEMENT is building in Ballinrobe as the musical society prepares for its production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
After winning the Best Technical AIMS award for two years, this will be a very difficult production to stage, as it requires intricate costumes and stage and lighting design of a high quality, but as usual the show is in safe and extremely competent hands
The production team of director Peter Kennedy, musical director John Roe and assistant choreographer Aoife McClafferty have been joined by chorus coach Martha O’Toole for the production.
Niall Conway, who plays the Beast, said: “Ballinrobe's passion to experiment in an effort to create that wow factor has provided many memorable moments. Beauty and the Beast brings musical theatre back to a younger audience ”
Also appearing in the show is Niall’s brother and sister James and Catherine, while Sinéad Heneghan plays Belle. Others on the cast include Gráinne McConnell, Seamus Cafferkey, Brendan Duignan, Siobhan Campbell, Mike Ansbro, Ger Mahon, Padraic Costello, Mariea Sheridan, Laura Rochford and Sadbh Langan. The role of ‘Chip’ will be a shared role between too very talented local young boys, PJ Feerick and David Moran.
Beauty and The Beast will run from February 12 to 18 at 8pm nightly including a matinee performance on the first day at 3pm in Ballinrobe Community School. There will be a new family rate of €50 for two adults and two children which is available for the performances on Sunday and Tuesday.
