Boxing: Busy times for local boxers
NEXT weekend signals another busy time for local boxers with the Connacht Boy1, Boy2, Boy3 Championships taking place in the Peter Callaghan Centre, Westport on Saturday and Sunday next, March 18th and 19th. On Saturday morning the weigh-in will take place between 9.30 and 10.30am. with the first bout getting under way at 12noon. The finals will take place on the following day with first bout down for decision at 11am. Boxers around the region were very active during the past week with both Kiltimagh BC and Midfield BC hosting tournaments over the weekend. At the Kiltimagh tournament on Friday night, the action got under way with five Mayo Schoolboy Championship finals up for grabs, and St.Anne’s BC in Westport were the main achievers, capturing three crowns.
