Galway growth attracts major accountancy firm

WELL-KNOWN accountancy and business advisory firm BDO Simpson Xavier officially opened an office in Galway last month. Based in Dominick Street Lower, this city centre office will be the fourth office in BDO’s Irish operation, adding coverage to existing operational bases in Dublin, Limerick and Belfast.

The Galway operation will offer the business community of Galway a full range of financial and business advisory services including tax advisory, corporate finance, wealth management, family business (services) and audit services. Initially staffed by 10 personnel including 2 partners, BDO Simpson Xavier intends this number to grow to a team of over 30 within the next three years. Kevin McSharry (Partner in Charge) and John Byrne (Partner) will be actively recruiting for key positions over the next few weeks.

Commenting about the new office location BDO Simpson Xavier’s Managing Partner, Paul Keenan said, “Galway has always been synonymous with entrepreneurial flair and for the past few years this flair has helped deliver phenomenal growth for the area. BDO SX has built a reputation as the adviser of choice for entrepreneurs and family owned businesses, so we are confident that our expertise and the vibrant business community in Galway will be a perfect combination.

•••••• and John have strong local knowledge and we are confident that this new office will be successful for businesses in Galway and the surrounding community”.

Speaking of the opening of the city centre located Galway office, Kevin McSharry, partner in charge of the Galway operation said;

“This fantastic new office is a testament to the growing demand for our services in Galway and surrounding area. BDO already has a fantastic reputation as the advisor of choice to growing businesses throughout Ireland and I look forward to working with our new Galway team in growing our reputation even further.”
